PSC FINGERSAVER · INDUSTRIAL HAND SAFETYENGINEERED DISTANCE · PRACTICAL CONTROL

Industrial applications

When hands should not hold the striking tool.

FingerSaver tools help separate the holding hand from selected impact and pinch zones in industrial maintenance.

Use cases

Applications to review with PSC

Every task requires compatibility and risk assessment. A holding tool is not permission to strike an unstable or unsupported component.

01

Flogging spanners

Bolting and heavy equipment maintenance where a spanner must be steadied while another worker strikes.

02

Industrial maintenance

Equipment disassembly, alignment and servicing with predictable striking and rebound zones.

03

Refinery turnarounds

Maintenance work involving heavy bolted assemblies and restricted-access areas.

04

Steel and foundry work

Selected impact tasks involving punches, wedges or tooling with appropriate holders.

05

Marine maintenance

Heavy maintenance tasks on ships, offshore units and marine equipment.

06

Construction and fabrication

Controlled holding during approved hammering and alignment tasks.

Two-person method

Plan the holding and striking roles.

For long tools and heavier impact tasks, the safest approved method may require two people. One positions and controls the tool while the other strikes. Neither worker should be in the swing or rebound path.

01

Brief the task

Agree the exact striking point, hand positions, signals and stop-work conditions.

02

Position the holder

Confirm secure engagement and a stable stance without crossing the impact zone.

03

Control the strike

Strike only on an agreed signal with suitable tools and PPE.

04

Stop and reassess

If the held tool slips, rotates, rebounds or jams, stop and review the method.
